SnoBlast 2019 Recap

Community Takes Action, Rallies Together to Raise Money for Local Charities

ROME, WI (Feb. 19, 2019) – This year, Lake Arrowhead’s SnoBlast event was one for the books with a record number of community members coming together throughout the weekend to raise money for local charities in both Wood and Adams Counties. The annual event, held the second weekend each February, is becoming more popular each year, with both members and local communities, and this year was no exception.

This year, through numerous activities, the Association raised over $6000 and will be donating it to many local charities and organizations including: Nekoosa Backpack for Kids, Adams County Food Pantry, Adams County Humane Society, St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Services, Boys & Girls Club, Port Edwards Student Council, Marshfield Clinic Cancer Research, Adams County Meals on Wheels Program, American Legion Auxiliary-Ryan Larson Unit 65, American Legion Post- Ryan Larson Unit 65, Adams County Safe Ride, Rome Police Department, Rome Sno Bandits, Rome Fire Department, St. Jude, Alex C Dove Foundation and Wisconsin Rapids ODC.

Without the help of the generous sponsors, volunteers and staff, this event would not be as successful as it is. (List of Sponsors attached) From silent auction donations, to countless hours spent judging tournaments, serving food and drinks and putting on a spectacular firework show the event wouldn’t have been the same without them.

“It is always rewarding to support and aid so many different causes and organizations within our communities.  We thank everyone who participated and contributed in making SnoBlast 2019 a smashing success!” commented Joel Barth, General Manager of Lake Arrowhead Association.

This past weekend was the 23rd year Lake Arrowhead has held the celebration that includes food, music, comedy and games inviting the whole family out to join in the fun.

The weekend started out Friday with their famous fish fry, Live Piano Entertainment by Anthony Lux and Sprecher Beer Tasting. Saturday was full of contests, children’s carnival games and a magic show, silent auction bidding, tournaments, hayrides and ended with a Firework show above the driving range accompanied with music by Feedback. The weekend concluded with a rambunctious game of Wine Bingo, along with tournaments in the morning and afternoon.
